As a result of ongoing border protection and operational-search measures aimed at ensuring the security of the state border and combating illegal migration, 5 border violators have been detained, the Press Center of the State Border Service (SBS) told APA.
On December 9 at 17:30, during a service operation of the SBS Border Troops Command's “Khudat” border unit, citizens of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria – Zehioua Mohamed El Amine (born in 1984), Hamdani Hamza (born in 1990), Boumaali Sid Ali (born in 1993), Cherichi Hichem (born in 1999), and Nebab Aimen (born in 2003) were detained while attempting to illegally cross the state border.
Investigation measures revealed that the detained individuals had intended to migrate illegally to European countries.
Operational-investigative measures to uncover the illegal migration channel are ongoing.
