In the first 10 months of this year, 6,693 people have been held criminally responsible for the illegal trafficking of narcotics, says the information of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, APA reports.
It was noted that among those people, 2 were aged 16-18, 498 were aged 18-25, 1,012 were aged 26-29, and 5,181 were aged 30 or older. Of these people, 6,497 were men, and 196 were women. Among those held criminally responsible, 59 were foreign nationals, including 25 from the Islamic Republic of Iran, 10 from Russia, 13 from Türkiye, 7 from Georgia, 1 from Uzbekistan, 2 from Ukraine, and 1 from the United Arab Emirates. A total of 212 kg 424.217 grams of various types of narcotic substances and psychotropic drugs were seized from foreign nationals.
