The investigation is under way. The poachers will be handed over to Azerbaijan after the investigation ends.
TBF-58 ship is not registered in Azerbaijan State Marine Administration (ASMA), deputy chief of ASMA Namig Agamaliyev told APA. He said the ship was first reported to have been detained because of illegal fishing. Moreover, the ship failed to keep up with rules of exiting the seaport. All these are considered as evidence to suppose it is illegally operating.
Kazakhstan’s border guards have detained eight Azerbaijanis in the territorial waters of the Caspian Sea. APA reports quoting Kazinform. Kazakh National Security Ministry’s press service reported that all of the detained are Azerbaijanis.
Crew of Sardar border guard ship while patrolling detained TBF-58, which was sailing under Azerbaijan’s flag and registered in Baku port, at 21.30 yesterday. The trespassers put up resistance. The captain warning of sinking the ship made a dangerous maneuver. Nearly 3 tonnes of fish and fishing equipment were found in the detained ship. Azerbaijani ship was taken to Bautino port of Kazakhstan./APA/
