The happening to the under age girls shocked local residents of the village. APA’s correspondent observed panic in the residents while talking with them.
The body of 14-year old Naila Majidova was found in Siyezen part of Samur-Absheron channel early in the morning on 9 August. The body of 7-year old Reyhana Majidova has not yet been found. The searching efforts continue.
The residents handed over suspect Tevekkul Ismayilov to the police.
Devechi Prosecutor Faig Rzayev told the APA’s correspondent Tavakkul Ismayilov admitted that he had murdered the two girls and threw them to the channel. He attributed his crime to the conflict with the girls’ father. The results of the medical examination will be publicized in two or three days. Ismayilov ruled out any sexual exploitation of the girls.
Criminal case has been instituted on the fact under article 120 (premeditated murder) of Criminal Code.
Though Ismayilov attributed his crime to the conflict with the girls’ father Zamir Majidov, Badal Dashdiyev, father Dilafruz Dashdemirova’, who has been missing for three years told the APA’s correspondent that the conflict version is absurd.
“Local residents of Dag Brizi village had demanded the law-enforcement bodies to arrest Tavakkul Ismayilov after my daughter was missing. Only the murdered girls’ father Zamir Majidov refused to sign the appeal and refused to give testimony to the police,” he said.
Badal Daashdiyev also touched on the issue on her missing daughter.
“Two years ago, Tevekkul told us that he wasn’t to marry our daughter. And we believed, and agreed to his proposal. Then he kidnapped and murdered our daughter. But he denied the accusations. I have many times appealed to law-enforcement bodies of the region and republic but gave no results. He was arrested first. But then he was released by the help of deputy police chief of the region, Musa Huseynov. We believed the death of Dilafruz after her clothes were found in the mountains. 32-33-year-old Rahim, the very man who found my daughter’s clothes, was missing later on. It is not known whether he is dead or alive. He hs three children,” Dashdiyev said.
APA’s correspondent tried to meet with the parents of the Naile and Reyhane but he was told they gave testimony at prosecutor’s office.
Local residents of Dag Brizi village said Tevekkul Ismayilov did not commit the crime alone and demanded his younger brother Elnur Ismayilov’s arrest and also speeding up the investigation into the case of village resident Dilafruz Dashdemirova, who was missing three years ago.
Newly-appointed region prosecutor Faig Rzayev, however, stressed that it is only the supposition of the local residents that Dilafruz Dashdemirova was murdered by Ismayilov, “We have no information on Tavakkul Ismayilov’s killing her. Necessary investigation will be carried out”.
The local residents claimed that Ismayilov has good relations with deputy police chief Musa Huseynov. They say Tevekkul and his brother Elnur Ismayilov grazed the deputy police chief’s cattle.
Police chief Musa Huseynov told APA the statement’s of local residents are biased. He refused to comment on other questions adding everything will be clarified after the investigation.
Naila Majidova’s body was handed to her family yesterday evening and she was buried today. /APA/
