33 trespassers detained in Azerbaijan in July

33 trespassers were detained in 21 cases of trespassing or attempt to trespassing on the state border of Azerbaijan in July this year. Nine of the detained were Azerbaijani, nine Afghan, one Georgian, four Iranian, one Iraqi, one Russian, one Belarussian and one Nigerian citizens. The State Border Service told APA that the mentioned persons were detained while using false documents.
Necessary measures were taken about 25 Azerbaijanis for violating border regime, and 47 foreign nationals for document forgery, 101 citizens of European, Asian and African countries for not having visas.
Seven Russian ships and 14 Azerbaijani ships were reviewed during control of coastguard in the Caspian Sea.
Border guards detained 51 searched offenders and handed over to law enforcement bodies. Moreover, smuggling of great amount of narcotics from Iran was prevented in Zehmetabad village. Smugglers put up armed resistance while being detained. But they left the smuggled narcotics and escaped.
Persons engaged in smuggling of narcotics put up strong resistance during operations carried out in that direction on July 13. Though 4 of 6 smugglers escaped, 2 Iranians Asgar Dunyavi and Shapur Javadi were detained with 2 submachine guns, 128 cartridges, mobile phone.
33 kilogram hashish and 2 kg heroin was found while reviewing the area. SBS found 87 kg 270,2 g narcotics (79 kg 739,4 g hashish, 7 kg 518,8 g heroine, 7 g cocaine and 5 g opium) in July. 55 thousand 364 hemp bushes weighting 11 t 390 kg were discovered and destructed during joint measures taken by representatives of Executive Power, law-enforcement bodies. A great deal of cigarettes without any exes stamps smuggled from Russia to Azerbaijan was revealed on July 10. Azerbaijani smugglers did not obey to legal demands of border-guards and tried to escape during operations. But SBS officials could detain them. 61 thousand boxes of cigarettes â€œKentâ€, â€œCamelâ€, â€œParlamentâ€, â€œDavidoffâ€, â€œMarlboroâ€, â€œZolotaya Yavaâ€ costing totally AZN74,500 were taken during reviewing vehicles and dwelling places. Smuggle in the amount of AZN 560,668 was removed within last month. 2 submachine guns, 5 chargers, 151 cartridges, 1 radio-station, 377 g jewelry, 120 kg cartilaginous fish, 70370 boxes of cigarette, 741 boxes of medications, 909 alcoholic drinks, foodstuffs and goods were taken. /APA/
