Criminal gang kidnapping Azeri businessmen sentenced in Tolyatti

The court determined that the criminal gang got $55-130,000 from the families of businessmen they kidnapped. One of the kidnapped businessmen Vagif Malikov is supposed to be killed, but as the body has not been found yet the law-enforcement bodies have not proved it.
The criminal gang is supposed to commit several more kidnapping facts.
The investigation established that the criminal gang consisted of three groups. The first group consisting of Azerbaijanis gathered information about the men to be kidnapped. The second group pursued the businessmen and solved financial problems. The third group protected the kidnapped men in secret houses.
All the members of the gang have not been defined yet.
The investigation established that the criminal gang kidnapped Fikret Mammadov engaged in selling cars in 2003 and released him within 12 days after getting $130,000.
The gang kidnapped David Babayev engaged in selling fish in 2004 and got $55,000 from his family. Nothing is known about the third kidnapped Azerbaijani businessman Vagif Malikov.
The court sentenced one of the leaders of gang Victor Orlov to 17 years, Mikhail Drobot to 14 years in jail and the other members of the gang from 12 to 17 years in jail. /APA/
