Security Ministry prevents drugs smuggling on Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia route

Lankaran resident living in Moscow, Mirmehti Agayev, Iranians and some others made a plan on smuggling great deal of narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan and to Russia. Iranian citizen smuggled 55.619kg drugs on June 9, 2007 in Azerbaijan and delivered to Mirmehti Agayev’s son Ramin Agayev in Bilasuvar. He brought the drugs to his relation’s house in Baku and hid it. Other Iranian citizens smuggled 30kg hashish on June 13, 2007 in Azerbaijan and delivered to Ramin Agayev in Andreyevka settlement of Jalilabad. He hid the drugs in the house he rent in Baku.
National Security Ministry officers searched the house rented by Ramin Agayev and his relation’s house and confiscated 85.619kg drugs on June 19, 2007.
Criminal case has been launched on article 206.3.2 (smuggling drugs by an organized group), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegally getting, keeping, carrying, sending and selling great deal of drugs by an organized group) of the Criminal Code.
Necessary investigative actions are being carried out. /APA/
