MES: â€œOne hour spent on fire extinction blazed up in IDP hostelâ€

Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. â€œOne hour was spent on fire extinction that blazed up in the hostel, located in the territory of Darnagul settlement of Binagadi district of Baku. The fire pit was eliminated for half an hourâ€, Deputy Chief of State Fire Protection Service of Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) Rza Khudiyev told journalists.

Khudiyev said that the information on fire blazing in the above mentioned territory was received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations today at 12:58 via â€œ101â€ service. The firefighting brigades of Narimanov and Binagadi districts were also involved in fire extinction. Taking into consideration the whole seriousness of the situation, Narimanov districtâ€™s firefighting brigade, arriving first at site, firstly made 2, then 3 number urgent calls. After that the firefighter brigades of Baku garrison were also involved in fire extinction at site. Taking into consideration the whole seriousness of the situation, Ministry of Emergency situations also involved the special civil services and other vehicles at the site.

Khudiyev said that the main reason of fire spreading on the wide area was that the buildings were joined by the wooden construction, the much amount of burning material, also the trade objects, so-called meat market adjoining the hostel.

According to him, 450 sq m of meat market, the 40% of hostelâ€™s area from the first till the fifth floor, which makes approximately 350 sq m burnt. Besides it, 4 apartments on the fifth floor, with each area of 15 sq m, including one apartment on the first floor, also burnt.

30 people, who were in the hostel when the fire blazed up, were evacuated. 1 year-old child was rescued from the hostelâ€™s second floor. There are no injured.
