Vilayet Eyvazov: â€œFour criminal groups engaging in human trafficking disclosed in Azerbaijanâ€

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, deputy minister, Lieutenant-General Vilayet Eyvazov said in the ministryâ€™s board meeting today that by the measures conducted within the framework of the National Action Plan on combating human trafficking 65 (+2) facts were discovered in Azerbaijan and four criminal groups were disclosed. 35 victims of human trafficking were found and assisted to reintegrate into society.

According to Eyvazov, by the measures conducted for ensuring economic security of the country, 7 facts of coinage offense were discovered and 2167 banknotes in amount of 22 000 AZN were pulled out from the turnover.

Eyvazov said in the field of traffic safety, implementation of technical systems and strengthening of administrative measures had positive effect on the prevention of road accidents. The road accidents were reduced 6.3% due to the prevention of high speed and driving in drink. About 450 000 facts of violation of traffic rules were identified and 1013 drivers were restricted in driving license. 299 people were punished for auto-hooliganism and 4530 for use of banned elements (curtains and plastic sheets) in their cars.
