Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Owner of Azerbaijan-based â€œEvsen Groupâ€ Ali Evsen commented on statements, which were spread in Arab media resources, about his arrest. Famous businessmen told APA that information on his arrest was groundless and false: â€œI read this information in Egyptian press and I didnâ€™t respond them, because I donâ€™t believe their press. There are some forces in Egypt that they often include this issue in agenda to smear my name. It serves the interest of some people there. It has no another reason.â€

Ali Evsen noted that judicial process on criminal case continuous and I often give testimony to the investigation: â€œIt’s a long judicial process. Currently, the investigation is underway. The investigation is expected to end in the short time and the media will be given detailed information, after the court finished.â€

Evsen said that judicial processes have no effect on his work and trips as a businessman: â€œDespite some forces in Egypt are carrying out campaign against me, Iâ€™m engaged in my work. I meet with investigators once a week. The investigation does not create any problem to my trips. I was in Baku together with the Prime Minister of Albania a while ago. I visit foreign countries due to my business. But and with it, the trial has not completed yet and I inform the investigation about my trips.â€

Ali Evsen said that at present he is in Madrid.

Allafrica.com website reports quoting Egyptâ€™s Justice Ministry that Ali Evsen was arrested. According to information, Evsen was arrested due to criminal case of Hussein Salem, who is close to Hosni Mubarak. He was detained on July 1 by Interpol. Assistant Justice Minister of Egypt Assem el-Gohary said Evsen will be handed over to Egypt over charges of committing several crimes with Salem in the country.

Ali Evsen is the president of Azerbaijan-based Evsen Group and a shareholder of Albanian Airlines. Evsen Group also includes AzSamand Services, Elite Complex, Azerbaijan Electronics and etc. About 3000 people work in these companies.

Ali Evsen is the father-in-law of the son of chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh.
