Drug trafficking from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Drug trafficking from Iran to Azerbaijan has been prevented as a result of measure taken by the State Border Service (SBS) and State Customs Committee (SCC), the press service of the State Border Service told APA.

3 Iranian citizens Eljali Adil Abdulhuseyn (born in 1978), Mehdi Aslan Khudaveren (born in 1979) and Seyid Gulamrza Miraziz (born in 1967), who violated the sea border of Azerbaijan in direction of Iran in servicing zone of the coastal control station in Kaladahna village of Astara region, have been detained as a result of joint operation on July 13. Trespassers didn’t obey the command, threw smuggle into the sea and attempted to run away from the site by boat. But border patrol boat pursued and detained them 2,2 miles away. Divers of the SBS found 10 kg hashish in depth of the sea.

2 persons, who attempted to violate state border from Iran in servicing zone of the border frontier post near Sim village of Astara on July 20, have been detained. Trespassers threw smuggle on the site and returned to Iran, because of foggy weather. 1 kg hashish and about 2 gram heroin were found and seized during inspection of the site.

Besides, cartridge-belt and one knife, which were hidden in the ownerless building situated in Dakar village of Gusar region, were found and seized by the SBS employees on July 18.

The State Border Service is carrying out operational search actions into the three facts.
