Azerbaijani National Security Ministry renders harmless several groups engaged in drug and brilliant stone smuggling
It was revealed that, according to previous concert, Ramil Taghiyev’s relative – Iranian citizen named Mahmud hid parcels of opium and heroin in the fuel tank of “Peugeot†car belonging to Hamzeh Sakanlou. Sakanlou and Avizak brought them to Baku through the Bilasuvar checkpoint. Taghiyev met Sakanlou and Avizak and went with them to a forging shop situated near his house in Bina settlement, in the territory called Milk Farm. The group members were detained when extracting parcels of 3 kq 987,5 gr opium and 988,4 gr heroin from the fuel tank of the car.
Azerbaijani citizens – Mammadova Alida Yadulla, Rzayev Jamal Jabrayil and Rzayev Ramil Aid were detained as a result of another operational action carried out by the Ministry of National Security. They, as well as Iranian citizens named Rasul and Asgar smuggled large amount of heroin from Iran to Azerbaijan for sale.
It was revealed that Alida Mammadova left for Iran’s Astara city early June, 2012, and agreed with her familiar Rasul about smuggling large amount of drugs to Azerbaijan for sale. Rasul organized the smuggling to Jalilabad region of Azerbaijan and concealment of large amount of heroin there. Besides, another Iranian citizen Asgar informed Jamal Rzayev about the place of drugs. Rzayev left for Jalilabad region together with his relative Ramil Rzayev in Mercedes car, took the drugs and carried them to Rudakanar village of Astara region after which he handed over them to Alida Mammadova. Jamal Rzayev gave AZN 200 of AZN 700 taken from Alida Mammadova to Ramil Rzayev. The group members were detained. 572,3 gr heroin were seized from them.
The Ministry of National Security prevented the taking of interest of the stare. Persons who smuggled 100,93 carat brilliant stones to Azerbaijan, were caught red-handed.
Azerbaijani citizens Rzayev Mammad Nariman and Ibrahimov Ramiz Shamil brought large amount of brilliant stones from Dubai (UAE) to Azerbaijan.
It was revealed that Mammad Rzayev and Ramiz Ibrahimov left for Dubai by air from Heydar Aliyev International Airport on July 8, 201. In Dubai they bought 110,93 carats brilliant stones. Then they agreed to smuggle the stones to Azerbaijan. They packed the stones to cellophane and hid on Ramiz Ibrahimov. They left for Baku on July 11,2012 and smuggled the brilliant stones beyond the customs.
After they crossed the customs border of the Republic of Azerbaijan, they were detained by employees of the Ministry in the airport’s bus stop. The criminal cases were launched on all above-mentioned facts. The investigation is underway.
