Strong hail and rain showers damage Aghsu region’s 5 villages, one killed

Chief of Kalva village municipality Kazim Imamaliyev told APA’s local bureau that it was hailing in Aghsu region’s mountainous Kalva, Surakhani, Dilman, Khatman and Hajiman villages on July 8 at 21.00.
The runoff waters caused by strong wind and rain showers destroyed a 7km bridge joining the five villages with Mughanli-Ismayilli highway and regional center. The electric posts were destroyed, the conductors were broken, and five villages remained without electricity. Hail and rain showers destroyed 130 ha unmown fields of wheat.
According to municipality chief, mudflow in Kalva village killed Mammadov Elvin Aghasalim, born in 1975. Father of two, Mammadov wanted to cross the river with his horse but sudden strong mudflow took him away.
His body is being searched now.
