Fire opened on Iranian boat trespassing Azerbaijani border, trespassers detained

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Unknown target was founded in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea by Astara Technical Observation Section of the State Border Service (SBS). The SBS press center told APA that the servicemen of the Coast Guard moved in that direction with a guard-boat in order to detect and detain the target. “Halt” command was given to the three people, who were on boat. As the trespassers ignored the command, the border squad opened fire on the boat, the boat’s engine was damaged and the trespassers were detained.

During the preliminary research it was revealed that the detainees – Iranian citizens, Lotfollahi Komarz Faramaz, born in 1971, Huzuri Rasul Farzulla, born in 1961, Imampur Kurush Zeydulla, born in 1971, Zarei Rasoul Navid, born in 1981, and a person by name Nariman Samai attempted to carry the strong drink from Azerbaijan. For this purpose they arrived from Iran in Azerbaijan on “Yamaha 200” motor boat beyond the checkpoint of Azerbaijan’s state border, wanted to meet with Zarei and carry the smuggle to Iran. The crime was prevented as a result of measures.

A great amount of strong drinks, GPS device and mobile phones belonging to the trespassers were revealed and seized from the site. As a result of operation carried out by the SBS employees to prevent organizer of crime Zarei to leave the country, he was detained in Bilasuvar border checkpoint while going to Iran. The SBS’s Investigation and Inquiry Office has launched criminal case on relevant articles of the Criminal Code. The court has sent the detained persons to pretrial detention. Investigative actions are being continued to reveal the other participants of the crime and bring them to responsibility.
