Tahir Mammadli: “Seismic activity in Sheki-Zagatala region wasn’t decreased to background levelâ€

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. “Seismic activity in Sheki-Zagatala region wasn’t decreased to background level. That’s why small earth tremors may occur in this region†said the chairman of seismology and geodynamics department of Republican Seismological Service Center of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Tahir Mammadli commenting on last quakes in Sheki region occurring during resent days.
He said that when the quake occurred on May 7 seismologists informed that the small earth tremors would continue for several months: “The quake hit Sheki region was recorded in the same seismic centre. The power of quake didn’t exceed 4 magnitudes. The residents felt it and became anxiousness because the earth tremors were not very deep and the quake occurred at night.
T.Mammadli said that 2-3 earth unfelt tremors were recorded in seismic centre within a day.
