Azerbaijan is one of 22 bird flu risky countries, USAID Azerbaijani director Scott Taylor told reporters, APA reports.
He said that Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Romaine, Bulgaria, as well as Near East, Eastern European, Asian and African countries are also among 22 bird flu risk countries. He said that USAID has spent near $ 700 thousand to fight against bird flu in Azerbaijan so far. The capital has been spent for not only training courses but also individual safety actions, purchase of disinfection equipments and the publication of leaflets to increase awareness on bird flu. He noted that USAID will hold monitoring on bird flu in Azerbaijan and other countries next year. The aim of the monitoring is to determine spreading probability of bird flu. /APA/
