USAID to hold seminar on Avian Influenza

The U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will hold a two-day training workshop on the use of Avian Influenza Commodities on December 7-8, 2006, US Embassy told the APA. The Commodities Training will cover the following topics: the use of personal protective equipment when working in an area where you might be exposed to birds that are suspected of having avian (bird) influenza; the safe and correct use of decontamination kits to kill the virus in areas where an outbreak has been reported; and the safe and correct work practices for gathering samples and preparing them for shipment to laboratories. During the training the participants will also have access to the commodities provided by USAID for decontamination; laboratory sampling, packaging and shipping; and personal protective equipment./APA/
