Deputy chief of regional branch #1 of State Labor Inspection Service arrested over bribery in Azerbaijan

According to the press service, Agayev Alifaga Dedekishi, the owner of â€œHalal erzagâ€ shop in Khazar district, called 161 hotline of the Anti-Corruption Department under Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office. Agayev said his shop was inspected by the officials of the regional branch #1 of the State Labor Inspection Service under the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, deputy chief of the inspection Demirov Teyyub Umud demanded AZN 1500 from him in order not to impose fines for the administrative offences revealed during the inspection.

Demirov was caught red-handed while taking AZN 1500 from Agayev on February 18, 2012. Demirov handed the money to the representatives of the Anti-Corruption Department, the money wad documented in the presence of witnesses.

Teyyub Demirov faced charges under article 311.1 of the Criminal Code and was put under restraint.

Preliminary investigation is being carried out into the fact.
