Ramiz Rzayev: “Number of decisions passed on Azerbaijan in European Court decreased”

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. “Azerbaijani courts examined about 160,080 cases last year. The Supreme Court was filed a cassation appeal on 5789 of it”, Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev told journalists, APA reports.

Rzayev said that the state of valid proposition improved in the regions: “The complaints on criminal cases gradually decrease. Most of complaints are on economic and civil cases and it is related to the rate of economic growth of Azerbaijan”. Chairman of Supreme Court underlined that the purpose in 2012 is to increase the efficiency of valid proposition; “The courts must be the place of confidence of people. If there is any problem in any sphere, we try to discuss and remove it”.

Rzayev said that the number of complaints on Azerbaijan decreased in the European Court on Human Rights: “”According to the number of examined cases, Azerbaijan takes the lowest places. I don’t say that we work better than all. But everything gradually improves and there are certain achievements”.
