Materials concerning activity of 16 municipalities sent to prosecutorâ€™s office in Azerbaijan

The implementation of the State Program, the work done and the forthcoming tasks were discussed during the meeting. Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov said the implementation of the State Program was in the center of attention, the ministry took active part in the convergence of the legislation with the international standards, development of the legislative acts for the improvement of the peopleâ€™s welfare, 159 draft normative legal acts were made, 612 acts underwent legal examination. It was said that about 16 000 municipal acts were examined, basing on the ministryâ€™s proposals 400 acts were amended or cancelled due to the misconvergence with the law, materials concerning the irregularities in the activity of 16 municipalities were sent to the prosecutorâ€™s office. The ministry continued measures to enhance the international cooperation. Bilateral documents were signed with Morocco, Russia, Georgia and other countries, mutual visits were paid.
The existing shortcomings and forthcoming tasks were discussed during the meeting, the measures were determined to strengthen correctional activities in the penitentiary system, increase control over the execution of the court decisions, improve the legal services and the procedure for considering citizensâ€™ appeals, strengthen administrative control over the activity of municipalities.

The issue of vacancies in the juridical system was discussed at the board meeting, it was noted that 223 lawyers were employed as a result of five competitions, there is a need to hold another competition. It was decided to simplify the procedures of recruitment and instructions were given to apply the electronic technologies for e-application. A number of non-commercial legal entities were registered at the board meeting.
