57 foreigners targeted by criminals this year

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 12 100 crimes, 134 per 100 000 population, were recorded in the country in January-June, 2011. 90.4% of the crimes were light, not creating public danger. 3943 crimes were committed against the people, 4049 economic crimes, 3594 against the public security and order, 553 in other fields. 106 crimes were committed by foreigners, including 25 by the citizens of CIS countries. 57 crimes were committed against the foreigners.

77% of 8905 offenders were brought to responsibility in the first half of 2011. 81.1% of the offenders have working ability, but donâ€™t work or study. 10.8% were previously convicted. 4.3% committed crimes in drink. 10.6% of the criminals were women.

854 women, including 19 girls under age of 18 and a pregnant woman, suffered from the domestic violence in the past six months. 12.5% of such crimes were committed by previously convicted persons, 11.7% - in drink. 78.7% of the domestic violence was beating, 18.1% - harming health, 0.9% - deliberate murder, 2.3% - other crimes.
