Baku – APA. Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation is planning to start Model OIC project in March. The Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, as well as Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy and Baku State University are the partners of this project, ICYF told APA. Similar Model UN Program is carried out annually for effective communication between the young people and educating multilateral diplomacy and human rights. Model OIC, as an analogue of this model, is carried out by ICYF for the first time and considered to cover all countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

One of the ICYF-DC’s main goals is to support international youth cooperation in OIC space, to assist the young people, who intend to work for their countries’ organizations or international agencies, in getting new knowledge and experience in the fields of management and communication. This program aims to contribute to the representation work of the Eurasian young leaders in the international arena.

Two-year Model OIC Program will inform the Azerbaijani and foreign students studying in our country about the OIC’s fair stance on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the program is also planning to discuss practical issues within the “Justice for Khojaly” campaign started on the initiative of the ICYF Senior Coordinator for Dialogue between Cultures Leila Aliyeva.

The project will start in March and in its first phase, youth from leading OIC countries will establish working groups, which will attend simulated sessions to discuss topical problems of the international relations, particularly international problems existed in OIC area, including Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict and will make concrete proposals for solution of these problems. Simulated OIC Summit will be held as a result of two-month discussions and model resolutions which will be adopted there will contain proposals for the solutions of those problems.

The OIC youth will hear lectures of the ambassadors, embassy workers accredited in Baku, leading experts of different international and local organizations. Winners will be awarded and qualified for international Model OIC competition in Istanbul, June, 2011.
