According to Usubov, 23010 crimes were recorded over all subjects, 88.8% of them were light crimes, 11.2% - villainy and felonies. Total number of crimes has decreased – 1.2%, kidnapping – 2.1 times, assault 2.1 times and robbery – 16.9%.
In 2010, 329 related to the past years, as well as 67 felonies were solved in 2010 together with prosecutor organs. Moreover, 314 criminal cases were revealed via Interior Ministry’s 102 service. 1679 criminal cases have been launched on the basis of information received by 102 service, nearly 2 thousand illegal acts were prevented.
Usubov noted that 14232 people committed different crimes were handed over to judicial responsibility as a result of measures carried out in 2010. 2296 local and interstate wanted criminals, as well as 127 accused people hid in the CIS and other foreign countries were detained.
Interpol National Central Bureau in Azerbaijan determined places of 70 internationally wanted persons, as well as 26 persons wanted by Interpol member countries. The Minister also added that 211 organized crime gangs comprising 659 people and committed 647 felonies were rendered harmless as a result of operational search action carried out by interior ministry bodies in 2010. Moreover, 32 facts on making and selling counterfeit money were revelaed last year. 30 persons connetced with illegal acts were brought to responsibility. 4637 counterfeit bank-notes comprising AZN 364 were withdrawn from circulation.
Last year, 660kg of drugs were withdrawn from turnover as a result of struggle against illegal drug turnover, bringing of 95kg of drugs to the country via contrabandage was prevented. 331 tons of drugs were revealed and annihilated.
70 criminal cases have been launched, 39 people had been brought to responsibility, 8 criminal group comprising 24 persons were rendered harmless as a result of measures taken on the basis of National Action Plan on struggle against human trafficking. Last year, number of victims of human trafficking was 34 people.
