Police officer knifed in Azerbaijanâ€™s capital

The incident was recorded on January 21 in front of the Academy of National Sciences. An unknown person threatened one woman, took her bag and run away. Officer of Quick Police Regimentâ€˜s 6th patrol force Intigam Umudov followed him and could catch him. At that time, unknown person put up resistance against the police and knifed him. Then another officer of the QPR Vugar Bayramov followed unknown person could render harmless him in the Fuzuli square. It was revealed that the offender was Beylegan resident, 29-year-old Teshkilat Mammadov. He has been handed over to the investigation.

The wounded police officer was hospitalized. His condition is satisfactory.

Zahidov told that yesterday officers of QPR solved another crime as well. On January 21, at about 16.30, Baku resident Ayaz Mammadhasanov knifed another capital resident Asif Abbasov and run away. Mammadhasanov was detained by officers of QPRâ€™s 5th patrol force and given to Nizami District Police Department.

Criminal case has been on two facts, investigation is underway.
