Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office and Interior Ministry issue joint statement on criminogenic situation in the country

According to the statement, actions taken to control the criminogenic situation in the country, maintain public order, solve grave crimes continued by Azerbaijani prosecuting authorities and interior bodies. A number of grave crimes were solved, the perpetrators were held accountable.

According to the statement, Farhad Suleymanov was arrested in connection with the murder of Rauf Hasanov in October. Search was initiated for other participants of the crime.

In connection with the murder of resident of Gakhingiloy village of Gakh region Parviz Mammadov on January 30, 2010, Levani Dukashvili was held accountable.

The reports that resident of Deller settlement of Shamkir region Almaz Gurbanova killer herself with Winchester rifle were investigated and it was proved to be a premeditated murder. The investigation found out that Almaz Gurbanova was killed by her husband Fakhraddin Rzayev on family dispute.

On May 30, 2010 Jalilabad region resident Shirvan Mirzayev was held to accountable due to murder of Baku City resident Famis Ibrahimov. As a result of operation-research measures it was proved that he had committed two more felonious homicides. It became apparent that Mirzayev killed Jalilabad region resident Khanoglan Jafarov in June, 2007 in quarry in Garadagh district and Fuzuli region resident Oruj Najafov in April, 2008.

On May 31 of current year, Natiq Ibrahimov, 16, was detained due to signs of violence on the dead body of Sahib Latifov, 14, found in one of the flats of 4-storeyed building in Shaki city.

Lerik region resident Sudabe Kazimova was held accountable as a result of urgent and intensive operation-research measures.

It was noted in the information that measures are being continued in direction of fulfillment duties of law-enforcement bodies in the sphere of protection rights and freedom of people, legality, tranquility, and strengthening of struggle against crime.
