Azerbaijani Parliament confirms candidates of the Constitutional Court

Chairman of Azerbaijani Parliament’s Committee for Legal Policy and Statehood Ali Huseynov said that Kamran Shafiyev, Jeyhun Garajayev, Fikrat Babayev, Rovshan Ismayilov, Rafael Gvaladze and Sona Salmanova have been nominated.

Note that, two of the candidates are officials of the Parliament. Kamran Shafiyev has worked as the Head of the Department for Civil Service and Human Resources of Parliament and Jeyhun Garajayev as Deputy Director of Constitutional Law Department.

Delivering speech during discussions MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev said that just work of judge depended on their salary: â€œThough their salary is high, it should be increased. All judges should be provided with carsâ€.

The case was confirmed after discussions.

After this, confirmed candidates swore in that they would work justly and honestly.

Chairman of Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev also thanked for confidence shown to candidates nominated for judge at the Parliament.
