Azerbaijani officials visit the affected area

Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Orujali Hajiyev chairs the center. The center functions in Garaguna village of Sabirabad region and at the State Traffic Office.

Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov and chairman of Melioration and Water Economy OJSC Ahmad Ahmadzadeh are also at the site. A lot of techniques and forces have been involved in the area. Appropriate measures are being taken in the direction of elimination of the existing situation.

Note that, the water level of the Kura River in Bayramli settlement of Azerbaijanâ€™s Shirvan city is rising. The river is moving towards the villages of Sabirabad region. APAâ€™s correspondent reports from the site that the Kura will likely flood Baku â€“ Horadiz railway. People are in panic. The residents are being evacuated. Some facilities are under the water. Some of the people of Bayramli settlement have been surrounded by water. There is only road to evacuate them â€“ railway bridge on the Kura.
