Over the past year, more than 3,000 audits and monitoring have been carried out in the information systems of government agencies by the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, and hundreds of detected cyber incidents have been promptly prevented, said Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev, head of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, in his address to the participants of the cyber festival at the “Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge 2025” (CIDC-2025) event held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that however the reality is that globally, the targets of cyberattacks are increasingly end-users and critical infrastructure facilities. Approximately 78% of cyberattacks recorded worldwide in 2024 targeted the human factor.
“As you know, the wars of the future will be fought not only on the battlefield but also in cyberspace. That is precisely why the ‘Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge’ event serves as a unique platform to further improve the knowledge and skills of government agencies, critical infrastructures, and young specialists in the field by testing them. I hope that this event will be an open field for both knowledge exchange and practical application opportunities for you. I am confident that this competition will be an important milestone in the formation of the new generation of cyber forces,” Ilgar Musayev stated.
