In the future, any cybersecurity incident occurring at a bank will no longer be considered solely that bank's problem. Such incidents will be immediately reported to the Central Bank, and incidents will be analyzed centrally and communicated to all banks, said Elnur Eyvazly, Director of the Information and Cybersecurity Department of the Central Bank, at the “Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2025” (CIDC-2025) event held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that through the “pinsert” function established within the institution, incidents will be collected, technical and risk-oriented analyses will be conducted, and the results will be promptly presented to the sector in the form of warnings. This mechanism aims to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents in the banking sector, limit the spread of risks, and strengthen the capabilities for rapid response.
