Work is continuing to integrate the systems of other government agencies in order to expand the scope of the "Single Window" platform, Rahman Hummatov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, said during the official presentation ceremony of the "Single Window" Information System – Digital Logistics Platform in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the project is not limited to the digitalization of domestic processes.
"Foreign economic activity is an important gateway to our country's relations with partner countries. In this regard, measures are envisaged to digitalize transport documents, facilitate the mutual exchange of data, and establish cross-border integration."
He noted that cooperation had been established with a number of international organizations as part of the project, and implementation mechanisms had been developed in line with relevant UN standards.
"Negotiations are currently underway with the Republic of Türkiye and the Russian Federation on the integration of transport documents in a digital environment. In the future, integration is planned to be expanded to international transport corridors, particularly the Middle Corridor, involving Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Georgia, and other partner countries, with broader cooperation on data exchange and the digitalization of transport documents."
The deputy minister added that the "Single Window" Information System is not merely a digital platform but a key element of a new approach to governance in Azerbaijan's foreign trade, transport, and logistics sectors.
"Once the system is fully implemented, bureaucratic barriers will be minimized, documentation and permit procedures will be simplified, interaction between government agencies and businesses will become faster and more transparent, and trade procedures will be significantly streamlined. All of this will contribute to increasing cargo transportation speed, reducing logistics costs, improving service quality, and ultimately enhancing the competitiveness of international transport corridors passing through our country."
