According to Embassy, authorities yesterday have extended the pretrial detention periods of two N!DA members, Zaur Gurbanli and Rashad Akhundov: “We continue to follow with concern the cases of these and other individuals arrested as a result of this year’s protests”.
The US Embassy urged the Government to ensure that due process and the rule of law are upheld for all detainees, including speedy, fair and transparent trials: “We will continue to monitor closely these cases and engage with the Government on them. ”
