Series of events proposed to be held in Turkic-speaking countries on 25th anniversary of Karabakh incidents

This was stated by President of the International Turkish Academy Derhan Kidirali, APA reports.

“There’s a need to hold large-scale events on Karabakh incidents to inform the world community. In this regard, we can take crucial steps, especially in the Turkish world. I propose that we hold a series of large-scale events on the 25th anniversary of the Karabakh incidents in Turkic-speaking countries next year. If the Azerbaijani side comes up with any proposals, we’re ready to work in this direction,” he noted.

He underlined Azerbaijan’s exceptional role in the establishment of the Astana-based International Turkish Academy and its activity.

“We always feel support from Azerbaijan. We closely cooperate with the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. I believe we’ll be able to do huge work with the Foundation for the Conservation of Turkish Cultural Heritage. Although new, the International Turkish Academy is working very seriously, preserving and propagating Turkic nations’ cultural heritage. Next to the academy, the Museum of Turkic peoples has been created. We have restored a lute belonging to the 8th-century Orkhon period. On the basis this lute we know what Dede Gorgud’s lute might have been like as well. This lute will be displayed in Paris. We’re continuing all efforts to reveal the Turkish cultural heritage to Europe and the world,” he completed.
