Russia 1 TV channel commits provocation against Azerbaijan

APA correspondent to Moscow reports that anchor Vladimir Solovyev spoke of Nagorno-Karabakh during his program dedicated to the political situation in Ukraine, and the ongoing processes in Donbas, and Luhansk.

While discussing the existence and future prospects of the so-called people’s republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, former deputy of the State Duma, well-known politician Boris Nadezhdin said Donetsk and Luhansk would never be able to carry out their independence policy and the economic state of their residents never return to normal.

He stressed the importance of those regions coming under the rule of either Russia or Ukraine. Upon this statement, V. Solovyev asked Boris Nadezhdin how Nagorno-Karabakh has managed to exist to date. The politician answered that Nagorno-Karabakh does not exist as an independent state and that de facto area is part of Armenia. And V. Sovolyev raised his objection, trying to prove Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state, even stressing his visit there in the past.

APA’s note: Solovyev, known for his pro-Armenian position, made unethical statements against the Azerbaijani state and people in his broadcast entitled "Morning with Vladimir Solovyev. Full Contact" that was on the air at Russia's radio station Vesti FM on November 1, 2011.

The provocation committed against Azerbaijan by Solovyev in a Russian state television on December 7 runs contrary to the partnership between the two countries. The relations between the two countries have reached to the level of strategic partnership thanks to the policy pursued by Azerbaijani and Russian presidents, and the parties have repeatedly stressed the need to further raise the level of these relations based on mutual interests.

Such provocations by Solovyev, who was awarded by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan for his merits in the development and strengthening of friendly ties between the Armenian and Russian people, are not accidental.
