Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. The Russian capital has hosted the 9th forum of creative intellectuals and scientists of the CIS countries. The forum was attended by up to 300 representatives from the CIS countries, the APA correspondent to Moscow reports.
During the forum organized with the support of the CIS Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation, co-chair of the foundation, the Russian president’s special representative for humanitarian affairs Mikhail Shvydkoy read out President Vladimir Putin’s congratulatory letter to participants.
Later on, Chairman of the Board of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Foundation, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu delivered a speech. Calling for the restoration of international relations in his speech, he stressed that Azerbaijan will not compromise its territorial integrity and national interests to anyone: “Today, we see new paradigms in international relations. Today, we can see nationalism and the experience of ethnic cleansing brought to the level of state policy. Of course, no country would ever compromise its national interests and territorial integrity to another. But the basis of intellectuals’ calls is probably to express their views with arguments and be open to discuss their views in public. It’s necessary not to keep silent about difficulties, improving the healing prescription for social diseases.
The ambassador said that today we live in a period that terror elements are increasing day after day: “All of these processes are happening in our continent and in the CIS area, which is very close to us. Unfortunately, today’s bloodshed is much more than in the Middle Ages. And the world community continues to remain silent. But intellectuals, of course, must react to these calls in this way or another”.
Note that, the Azerbaijani delegation also attended the forum.
