APA’s Europe correspondent reports that proposals on “issue of political prisoners in Azerbaijan” initiated by the Irish MP Michael McNamara has been discussed at the meeting. With the offer of the Irish MP, the issue on appointment of new rapporteur was on the agenda.
Though an issue on appointment of Dutch MP Pieter Omtzigt as a rapporteur for political prisoner issues in Azerbaijan has been discussed, he collected only 19 votes.
Thereafter, 29 members voted for the Co-Rapporteur on Azerbaijan, Spanish MP Pedro Agramunt to make report on political prisoners issue in Azerbaijan.
