An official from one of the Armenian Defense Ministry's military units has been charged with embezzling diesel fuel, Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee said, APA reports.
According to the statement, the former head of the fuel and lubricants warehouse of the Defense Ministry's military unit No. "N" abused his official powers to embezzle diesel fuel.
According to the investigation, in 2026, he conspired with a driver of the military unit to remove diesel fuel from the unit's premises and use it for personal purposes. The driver assisted in taking the fuel out of the military unit. The diesel fuel was discovered in the vehicle by officers of the Ijevan division of the Military Police Department of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
The military unit official has been charged under the relevant article of Armenia's Criminal Code, while the person who assisted him has been charged with complicity in the crime. Both individuals admitted their guilt and gave testimony.
The Anti-Corruption Committee stated that the preliminary investigation has been completed, and the indictment has been submitted to the supervising prosecutor for approval before being sent to court.
