Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with the Special Representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus

Baku-APA. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov on the sidelines of OSCE 21st Ministerial Council in Basel, held on December 4-5, 2014 had a meeting with Herbert Salber, Special Representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus, APA reports.

At the meeting the sides had an exchange of views on regional issues, as well as the latest status of negotiation process towards resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Views were also exchanged on on provocative military drills conducted by Armenia with the involvement of large number of personnel and military equipment in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan after the Paris meeting of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. It was stressed that such provocative behavior does not serve to the resolution of conflict and negatively affects the recent positive indications observed in the negotiation process.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov highly valuing the relations between Azerbaijan and EU, added that Azerbaijan has strategic partnership ties with certain EU member countries and Azerbaijan -EU relations can also be elevated to the strategic partnership level.
