Mazahir Panahov meets PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan Pedro Agramunt and Joseph Debono Grech have today met with chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov, Department of Media and Public Relations of CEC Secretariat told APA.

Panahov noted that the Commission attaches great importance to the relations with the leading international organizations, as well as the Council of Europe.

The guests were interested in the work done on the general election reforms and upcoming elections.
The chairman informed the co-rapporteurs about the pre-election situation in the country and activities carried out on the preparation for elections.

Panahov said all necessary work has been done to ensure active rights of citizens to vote and emphasized that they would take all necessary steps to conduct high-level elections.

He added that all conditions were established for the media and observers to ensure full transparency as it was in previous elections.

Answering questions of the guests Panahov gave detailed information about CEC activity in the current year and further projects.

The sides exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest.
