EU, US Embassy deny reports of sanctions against Azerbaijani officials

The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan refused the information on the imposition of sanctions by the United States against 31 Azerbaijani officials.
“The information is false. No sanctions have been imposed on Azerbaijan,” the embassy told APA.
The Prosecutor General's Office also denied reports on any sanctions against prosecuting employees.
Spokesman for the Prosecutor General's Office Eldar Sultanov told APA that they have refuted those social network and mass media reports on sanctions against 11 officials of the prosecuting employees.
Sultanov said employees of the General Prosecutor's Office pay regular visits to foreign countries on the occasion of international events and business trips.
“First Deputy Prosecutor General Rustam Usubov visited Germany and Austria in November last year. Chief of the Grave Crimes Investigation Department under the General Prosecutor's Office Eldar Ahmadov went on a business trip to Germany in July of last year, the department's investigator Gasim Mammadov to Finland in November and December, another investigator Ibrahim Lambaranski to Austria and Italy in December and January.”
It was said on “AzÉ™rbaycan saatı” (Azerbaijan’s hour) program that the EU and the US Department of State imposed sanctions on 31 Azerbaijani officers who violated human rights. They were even named on the program. They are judges and employees of the Prosecutor’s Office.
