Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. “Azerbaijan is neither an outpost, nor a tool pursuing the policy of any country in the region. Azerbaijan is an independent state founded by Heydar Aliyev and pursuing its independent policy,” said chief of the Presidential Administration Political Analysis and Information Provision Department Elnur Aslanov addressing today’s conference of the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The PA official noted that no political or economic projects are currently being implemented in the region without the participation of Azerbaijan: “Now, we can almost say proudly that Azerbaijan is a leading state. Azerbaijan is playing a key role in the establishment of a number of international organizations and their activities. This policy is led by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev”.
Elnur Aslanov said some international organizations apply double-standard principle.
"They want to demonstrate biased position on Azerbaijan. 34 members of 754-member European Parliament have recently adopted a resolution on Azerbaijan. This resolution is biased and one-sided. The institutions that are under the influence of the Armenian lobby and attempt to immediately express position on some issues do not adopt a resolution at a large European institution regarding the Azerbaijanis, whose rights have been violated and who have been suffering from Nagorno Karabakh conflict for 20 years. Isn't it a problem that one million people have been displaced from their native lands?" he said.
