The diplomat said the Romanian embassy has contributed to the development of Azerbaijan-NATO relations during this period, APA reports.

The Romanian embassy addresses its warmest thanks to the Presidential Administration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense and Parliament of Azerbaijan, especially Committee for Foreign Relations for their valuable support, and also Azerbaijani journalists for their high professionalism and disponibility to disseminate NATO related information.

The diplomat said the embassy successfully cooperates with different authorities, giving information about public diplomacy. The ambassador also said that the year 2014 was rich with events for NATO and Azerbaijan, noting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s meetings with the NATO secretary general and other officials at the organization’s head quarters. Mr Ciobanu stressed that Azerbaijani and NATO representatives paid mutual visits last year.

The ambassador said the Romanian embassy will continue to function as NATO Contact Point Embassy (CPE) for another two years, adding that it will organize further conferences and seminars focused on promoting values and principles that NATO stands for. He also noted that the embassy will continue its efforts for NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation to expand.

“We will also continue to present to public opinion in Azerbaijan relevant information about NATO’s current agenda and security policy,” he emphasized.
