APA reports quoting the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas ButkeviÄius received Heydarov during the visit.
ButkeviÄius expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Lithuania, noted that there are great opportunities for further expansion of these ties at the meeting. The Minister, in his turn underlined the importance of the efficient use of the existing potential of the two countries in the field of emergency situations as in other spheres.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
Heydarov also met with Lithuanian Minister of the Interior Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas as a part of the visit.
They discussed the prospects of cooperation in warning and preventing emergency situations and eliminating their consequences, as well as issues on taking advantage of experiences of the two countries in this filed.
Following the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation got acquainted with the activities of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, its subordinate bodies, State Fire and Rescue Service and 112 emergency call service.
