Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. “If today, the G-8 leaders pay attention to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict while discussing global problems and searching their solutions and the Presidents of the co-chairing states – Russia, the United States and France issued a statement in this regard, it proves once more that this conflict is a problem for the whole world. The President of Azerbaijan has repeatedly pointed out this,” said Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, APA reports.

He noted that the discussion of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict as a part of the G-8 summit is the confirmation of Azerbaijani President's statements: “The leaders of co-chairing countries have already perceived that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will actually become a global disaster, if it is not solved in the short run, let alone the cultivation of drugs in these territories. It has become an international transit route for Afghan drugs. Terrorist groups are trained there and sent to different zones all over the world at the expense of drugs trafficking. Having witnessed it, the countries perceive that this may become a disaster for them as well. We are going to appeal to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime at Vienna again and consider that they will pay a great attention to the problem. We will appeal so that monitoring is conducted in Nagorno-Karabakh, the occupied territories and this issue is covered in the UN documents."
