Berlin. Fuad Gulubeyli – APA. “Azerbaijan is playing its role in the energy sector, putting forward its own initiatives. In 2012, the foundation of the project TANAP was laid, in 2013 the project TAP, and in 2014 Southern Gas Corridor,” President Ilham Aliyev said at a briefing after his meeting with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, APA’s special correspondent reports from Berlin.
The head of state said Azerbaijan itself is the initiator of these projects and has undertaken to finance a considerable part of the project.
“We will continue cooperating with the European Union. Baku will host the first meeting of the Advisory Council for Southern Gas Corridor next month,” said the president.
