Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev congratulates US President Barack Obama

The Head of State says in the letter that the relations with the US are of great importance for Azerbaijan.

"The great development of these relations causes satisfaction. Azerbaijan and the United States are united by strong friendship and close cooperation. Our joint work in ensuring energy security has raised our relations to the level of strategic partnership. Our participation in the peacekeeping mission of the international community strengthens our partnership more," the letter says.

Azerbaijan's President underlines that he cherishes great hopes for the efforts of the US, as the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing country, and personally President Barack Obama towards the fair peaceful solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict basing on the norms of the international law.

"I wish You robust health, success in your activity, peace and prosperity to the friendly American people."
