Ankara hosts meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is on a visit to Ankara, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have held face-to-face meeting.

APA reports that the meeting took place after welcome ceremony.

Successful development of bilateral friendship and brotherhood relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in political, economic, energy and other spheres, and importance of global projects jointly implemented by our countries in energy and transport spheres have been underlined at the meeting. It’s was spoken about significance of hosting of Turkey the next meeting of G-20.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked Recep Tayyip Erdogan for invitation to that event. This invitation has been assessed as model of friendship relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

It was noted at the meeting importance of just settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict on the basis of international legal principles, within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Heads of state expressed their confidence that the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey will further develop.

Thereafter, the 4th meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was held with the participation of presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The meeting focused on discussions of perspectives of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in economy, energy, transport, defense, humanitarian spheres, works on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, TANAP projects, settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Bilateral and international issues have also been discussed at the meeting.
