Cooperation between Romania and Azerbaijan is strongly developing in all fields on the basis of warm friendship and mutual respect between our peoples, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania H.E. Mr. Daniel Cristian Ciobanu to the Republic of Azerbaijan said in a message on the occasion of the anniversary of the Union Day of Romanian principalities.
According to him, celebrating Union Day of Romanian principalities in Azerbaijan, a strategic partner of Romania, is a moment of great joy.
“156 years have passed since the Union Day, January 24, 1859, the day when Romanian principalities of Wallachia and Moldova united. It was a day which showed the power of solidarity. It was an important step towards the unification of all Romanian provinces and opened the prospect of forming the modern Romania,” he stressed.
Taking the opportunity of celebrating the Union Day, the ambassador has warmly congratulated all Romanians in Azerbaijan.
