Azerbaijan Prosecutor General meets Chairman of Russian Supreme Court in Moscow

On September 29, a meeting was held in Moscow between Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev and Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.

During the meeting, the important role of relations based on friendship and mutual trust established between the heads of state in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia was noted. It was emphasized that relations between the two countries are developing on the principles of strategic partnership and allied interaction and that there is a solid foundation for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.

The Prosecutor General stated that relations established over many years between the prosecution authorities of the two countries are at a high level, noting that effective cooperation is being carried out in the areas of mutual legal assistance, the fight against crime, and the exchange of experience and information.

During the meeting, prospects for the future development of legal relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, further strengthening of institutional cooperation, mutual exchange of experience, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the fields of legal education and professional training of personnel were discussed. In this regard, an exchange of views was held on prospects for expanding ties and promoting joint scientific and practical events, training sessions, and exchanges of experience.

Igor Krasnov stated that he is interested in developing constructive relations and strong, trust-based, and long-term cooperation with his Azerbaijani colleagues and expressed confidence that the meeting would contribute to the further development of ties between the relevant institutions of the two countries.

As part of the meeting, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev presented Igor Krasnov with the jubilee medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan “100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor’s Office (1918–2018).”
