Effective cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and the World Health Organization (WHO) also covers the system for providing rehabilitation aids, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev said at a meeting at the Ministry with Hande Harmanci, Head of the WHO Country Office in Azerbaijan, the Ministry told APA.
In recent years, the types of rehabilitation aids provided in the country at the expense of the state budget have been grouped in accordance with the WHO classification, and the number of these types has increased from 57 to 130.
He highlighted the steps taken in recent years to improve disability and rehabilitation systems as part of the social reforms carried out in the country on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev. It was emphasized that particular importance is also attached to joint activities with WHO in these reforms and that the successful experience of cooperation has created a solid foundation for broader cooperation in the coming period. Information was provided on reforms implemented in the field of compulsory health insurance for the population, the application of innovative solutions, and work carried out to increase the flexibility and accessibility of services.
Hande Harmanci expressed positive views on the social reforms carried out in the country and cooperation between WHO and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population. The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation with WHO in improving management in the field of compulsory health insurance for the population.
