Yerevan has appealed to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) to have Russia’s restrictions on imports of Armenian products into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market recognized as a trade barrier and removed, Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said, Armenian media said, APA reports.
According to him, a meeting of the EEC will be held in October, during which a decision will be made regarding Russia’s restrictions on Armenian products.
“We believe that this is a barrier created by one country against another. Under EAEU rules, if one country applies such measures against another country, the latter can appeal to the EEC. If the Commission recognizes what is happening as a barrier, that state must remove the barriers within 30 days,” the minister noted.
